BORGO ANTICO Verdiso Frizzante “Vin col fondo”
Verdiso is one of the oldest native grape varieties of the Colli Trevigiani area, with a cultivation history stretching back more than two centuries. Borgo Antico produces this special wine from the Marchesin family's own Verdiso vines — pale straw yellow with greenish reflections, a delicate, spicy, lively aroma with a sour taste reminiscent of unripe apples.
The "Vin col fondo" (with the bottom) version undergoes natural bottle re-fermentation, with the yeast sediment settling on the bottle floor. Stirring and swirling the sediment — as the producer suggests — transforms the wine into a richer, yeasty-mineral experience, with new layers of aroma and texture. Excellent as an aperitif, with light starters, seafood, risottos, and white meats. Serve at 12°C.
