The "Rive di Guia" category refers to hand-harvested, vintage Prosecco—the highest quality classification within the DOCG. The Bortolin Angelo winery has its roots in the small village of Guia, where the family, founded in 1968, has been working in this area for generations. This vineyard, Sommaval, has always been family-owned, and the Glera grapes grown there produce one of the most complex wines in the entire Valdobbiadene region.

Sommaval Extra Brut is made with nearly zero residual sugar, which fully unleashes the region’s mineral, stony, and salty character. The perlage is creamy, giving an almost velvety sensation on the palate. The aroma is dry, mineral, with notes of wild sage, stone fruit, and apple; the taste is bone-dry, full-bodied, and has a long finish. Best served at 10–12 °C. Excellent with raw fish, shellfish, and crustaceans—but it is also a meditative wine that can be enjoyed on its own.
