We found them by a slightly roundabout route. We were attending a sommelier course where one of the instructors specifically highlighted the Bortolin Angelo proseccos. He spoke very highly of them, and since we already knew they had previously been present on the Hungarian market, the idea suggested itself: perhaps it was worth bringing them back.
Our general principle is to represent one winery per terroir, and since Bortolin Angelo also produces in the Guia area, this initially raised a question. At the same time, this is a larger producer with serious capacity, offering bottle formats that are simply not available from the smaller family estates.
They are the only partner we carry who offer 3, 6 and even 9 litre bottles – genuinely special formats for celebrations or larger gatherings.
